The Energy Regulatory Commission on Wednesday said it is set to penalize companies for project delay s and the unscheduled outages experienced during the summer season, a top official said Wednesday.According to ERC chairman and chief executive officer Monalisa Dimalanta, the agency has already made “significant headways” on its investigation on the recent outages and project delay s, and it is set to release a decision in the coming days.
“We have to also understand that in some instances, delays were justified and those were part of the evaluation of the commission,” she added.Dimalanta said that out of the 139 units that recorded outages during the two weeks in April, there were 37 generation companies that exceeded their allowable outages.
