'wat are the things that I should allow them to do/not to do?' the employer asked
SINGAPORE: A woman planning to hire a maid took to social media asking for advice as her friends told her not to be nice to her new helper.
In an anonymous post to a support group for domestic helpers and employers alike, the woman wrote that she was a first-time employer who was planning to hire a maid to do her housework and care for her Primary School-aged child. “I wish to hire Myanmar helper, any advise whether is it that I engage experienced or non experience better? And also wat are the things that I should allow them to do/not to do?” she asked netizens.
She said that one of her friends suggested that she not even allow her maid to use WiFi, but the woman added that she disagreed and didn’t mind if her helper used the internet during her free time. “I’m generally a very nice person, but my friends all tell me not to be nice to the new helper or she will take things for granted. Any advises for newbie like me?” she asked netizens.
