An emergency doctor has described the scenes that unfolded after a catastrophic school bus crash in Melbourne’s western fringe on Tuesday.
The Victorian government will investigate the Eynesbury bus crash to determine if changes need to be made to keep children safe.
Andrews also thanked the bystanders who helped the children trapped in the crumpled bus, and said he was proud of them. By the time she had arrived, it was a “well-organised scene”. The Country Fire Authority, State Emergency Service, police and ambulance were already there. “I think the focus for us at that time is managing the situation in front of us, regardless of what that might be, and knowing that we’ve done our best work by getting people where they need to be as soon as possible.”Seven patients remain in stable condition at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Six primary school-aged children were rushed to Sunshine Hospital’s emergency department, where four were later discharged. Two boys remain in a stable condition in their ward.

He has been charged with several counts of dangerous driving causing serious injury, relating to four victims - two aged nine and two aged 10.
