Actor, Adam Rich — known for playing the younger brother in the 1970s' TV show Eight is Enough — has died, aged 54.His publicist paid tribute to him as "kind, generous and a warrior in the fight against mental illness"Rich died on Saturday at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday, the Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner Coroner's office said.
“Being a famous actor is not necessarily what he wanted to be … He had no ego, not an ounce of it," he said."Adam was simply a wonderful guy," he said."He was unselfish and always looked out for those he cared about … which is why many people who grew up with him feel a part of their their childhood gone, and sad today."In Eight is Enough, Rich was the little brother to a generation of TV viewers as the mop-top son of a newspaper columnist played by Dick Van Patten.
Rich also starred in the series Code Red from 1981 to 1982 and voiced the character of Presto the Magician on Dungeons & Dragons from 1983 to 1985, according to IMDB.However, the balance of his acting career was in single-episode appearances, including The Love Boat, The Six Million Dollar Man, Silver Spoons and Baywatch.
