A 73-year-old British man died of a suspected heart attack and dozens of other passengers were injured on the flight from London to Singapore.
At least eight Australians are in hospital after mid-air turbulence on a Singapore Airlines flight out of London forced the pilot to make an emergency landing in Bangkok. A 73-year-old British man died of a suspected heart attack and 30 other passengers were injured when the flight hit severe turbulence 10 hours into the flight, flinging people around the cabin.
"I saw things lying everywhere and many aircrew injured" with bruising, Kittikachorn said after the most critically injured passengers and crew had been removed from the plane. Some tallies of the injured out of the 211 passengers and 18 crew differed. The airline said 18 were hospitalised and 12 were being treated in hospitals. Samitivej Hospital said it was treating 71 passengers.
