We’re told Biden will likely ask Canada to beef up spending on NORAD and NATO, with a special focus on defence of the Arctic, which is fair enough. Those requests are in this country’s best interests. He’ll also likely ask us to help in strife-torn Haiti. All those commitments would require Canada to expand its military.Article contentWe support that. Canada has one of the smallest armed forces in the G-7, yet one of the world’s largest land masses.
It may play into Biden’s songbook to pretend that the big, bad Canadians are stealing American jobs. The facts don’t support that.
