Economist: U20 World Cup Cancellation Costs Indonesia Rp3.36 Trillion in GDP: The potential revenue streams for Indonesia's GDP from the U20 World Cup event are not limited to just the football sector.
PIKIRAN RAKYAT - Ahmad Heri Firdaus, an economist from the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance , has stated that Indonesia missed out on the potential for an additional Rp3.36 trillion in Gross Domestic Product revenue due to the cancellation of the U20 World Cup. The estimated figure was obtained through the computed general equilibrium method, which calculated the output of injecting Rp1.31 trillion into the economy for the U20 World Cup event.
He also highlighted that the potential revenue streams for Indonesia's GDP from the U20 World Cup event are not limited to just the football sector, but also include sponsorships, broadcasting rights, streaming subscriptions, merchandise sales, and the tourism sector.
