For the 7th annual ParkerArtSalon, artists at Parker Street Studios open their doors to the public in a kind of mini\u002DEastside Culture Crawl.
We were born out of the Culture Crawl. Parker is a big hub of the Crawl, and one of the ideas is that, during the event, it’s so busy, and as an artist you’re in your studio and you can’t take time to see what other artists are doing. That was our lament for years. Finally, over a glass of wine one night after a Crawl, we said that we needed to have a show where we can see what everyone is doing. We decided to be the flip-side of the Culture Crawl.
it’s mostly woodworkers on the first floor, and some painters, too. And then the second, third and fourth floors are just a mixed bag of all sorts of painters, sculptors, and crazy creative people.Article contentSome people think that there are ghosts. I’ve been here for over 20 years and I haven’t come across any. There’s a graffiti alley where we go to have a beer once in a while. We used to have a little rooftop office but that is no longer there.
David Wilson’s Three Days Left will be on display at the Pendulum Gallery May 15-June 16 as part of this year’s ParkerArtSalon.
