East Coast egg supply adequate for Raya, says Salahuddin

He added that the ministry inspected several supermarkets in Kelantan and Terengganu following media reports of a shortage. “Based on statistics of egg supplies at these premises up to yesterday, there was still a stock of more than 220,000 eggs,” he said in a statement today. In Terengganu, he said there are enough eggs in the main supermarkets and stores in smaller towns, adding that monitoring showed a decline in demand as Ramadan bazaars will start to close and there will not be large orders from the baking industry for kuih, cakes and Raya cookies.
