The DVLA has issued a warning to drivers who have renewed their licence as they could be affected by the new rules

Drivers must check their licence categories as summer approaches and we delve deeper into the year. Older drivers have been alerted that certain rules could affect their ability to continue driving.

The advice is especially relevant for those who operate larger vehicles after renewing their licence, reports Birmingham Live. The DVLA, on its website, advises drivers aged 70 and above to renew their licence, stating: "You can use this service to renew your British driving licence if you're 70 or over, or will be 70 in the next 90 days, and your British licence has expired or it's going to expire within 90 days, you're a resident of Great Britain , you meet the minimum eyesight requirement and you aren't prevented from driving for any reason".
