Peter Dutton has urged the government to “take away the emotion” and just be honest with Australians about the future of the energy market, as he renews calls for nuclear power.

Alinta Energy, one of Australia's largest power companies, warned retail electricity prices could increase by at least 35 per cent based on current forecasts, costs, Russia's invasion on Ukraine and the world transitioning from fossil fuels.
