Motorists can save up to 10 percent on fuel costs by using a simple technique, according to experts.
Motorists can significantly cut down their petrol and diesel consumption by adopting a few simple techniques, experts have suggested. Three straightforward vehicle cooling methods could drastically lower cabin temperatures.
Darren Miller from BigWantsYourCar.com shared some easy tips that could help drivers save money this summer, reports the Express. He said: "Opening the windows before turning on the air conditioning is a simple yet effective way to start the cooling process in your vehicle.""By letting hot air escape first, you lighten the load on your AC system, possibly reducing fuel consumption by up to 10 percent.
"This strategic way of using your car's ventilation system improves airflow, creating a cooler interior without overworking your AC unit." Running the air conditioning system can consume between 0.2 to 0.4 litres of fuel per hour, according to some estimates. KwikFit has also confirmed that using the system could increase fuel usage by up to 10 percent, especially on short journeys.
