If an “exceptional status” drug is required, the system could generate a form, pre-populated with previous medications that were tried, and request specific information to authorize the new drug.

It automatically did a drug interaction analysis and offered immediate information that was invaluable at the point of prescribing. Now I must enter the entire list, outside the EMR, to ensure patient safety, for every drug I prescribe.
