PETALING JAYA: Cheng Su Yin is relishing the opportunity to compete in the SEA Games in Cambodia next month after missing out on making her debut last year.
The national doubles shuttler was named in the team in Vietnam last year but couldn’t compete due to heart inflammation.
Su Yin will be playing in the women’s doubles with her twin sister and usual partner Cheng Su Hui and mixed doubles with Choong Hon Jian.On being handed double duty, the 20-year-old said: “I’m very excited to play in two events as I have played in mixed doubles before during my junior days.Su Yin had captured the 2019 Bangladesh Junior and 2021 German Junior titles with then partner Goh Boon Sze.
Su Hui had captured a bronze medal in her debut last year along with Cheah Yee See in the women’s doubles.
