The Department of Transportation and UltraPass signed a memorandum of understanding to roll out passenger biometrics processing at Philippine airports.
The biometric system using embedded data in passports and the Philippine National ID will streamline the airport experience by reducing processing time for check-in, security screening, boarding and baggage retrieval. “We’re not only implementing advanced technology but setting a benchmark for digital transformation within ASEAN. UltraPass’ technology integrates seamlessly with the Philippine National ID, showcasing how digital identity verification can enhance efficiency, security, and a touchless airport experience,” said UltraPass founder and chief executive Eric Starr.
Bautista said the innovation aligns with DOTR’s vision to elevate Philippine aviation to global standards, aligning with international practices in biometric technology.
