Dorinda Cox has been appointed the new Indigenous Spokesperson for the Greens following Lidia Thorpe’s departure as the Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum approaches.
“We will be pursuing a treaty in the future, and we wanted to make sure the Labor government are progressing all of those elements,” Ms Cox told Sky News Australia.
“What we are seeing across the country, and Queensland’s recent announcement yesterday, treaty-making is something both states and federal governments basically have an obligation to do with First Nations people in this country.”
