Donald Trump has taken aim at Australia's Ambassador to the United States Kevin Rudd and labelled the former Prime Minister “nasty” during an exclusive interview with Sky News Australia contributor Nigel Farage.

‘He won’t be there long’: Donald Trump says Kevin Rudd will be gone as US Ambassador ‘if he’s at all hostile’

The former President and Farage were discussing China’s naval growth before the conversation turned to the AUKUS nuclear submarine deal negotiated under the previous Coalition government. “Now we've got a Labor government in Australia,” Farage told the Republican frontrunner during the chat. Mr Trump claimed Australia's Ambassador to the US, Kevin Rudd,"won't be there for long" after being told what the former prime minister had said about him. Picture: GB News

Mr Rudd was appointed as Australia's ambassador to the United States in March 2023 and previously served as Prime Minister from 2007 until 2010 and again briefly in 2013.
