PUTRAJAYA: Blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin is most welcome to return to Malaysia at any time but must go through the right channels and procedures, rather than “play the victim”, says the Home Minister.

Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said he should submit an application and get the necessary travel documents so that he could return.“If he truly misses the country, then go through the proper channels and deal with the right people.

“In fact, he can contact me and I will look into his application,” he said during a session with the media. In a recent video post on social media, the blogger claimed that several negotiations had taken place since 2013 with leaders and authorities on the possibility of him returning. The blogger claimed to have met with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during previous premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s administration.

He also allegedly met with two other Cabinet members and also officers from Bukit Aman to assist in his return.
