Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Friday said he is not opposed to the temporary release of detained Sen.

Leila de Lima so the latter can visit her mother in Camarines Sur at the soonest possible time.

Guevarra said he will ask the state prosecutor in De Lima's criminal prosecution to allow the request of De Lima.De Lima's lawyer earlier filed a motion before a Muntinlupa City court to allow the senator to visit her 86-year-old mother, who is confined at a hospital in Iriga town.
