On Saturday, January 4, 2025, the DOH stated that the victim was a 19-year-old male from Davao del Norte who was hit by a stray bullet while celebrating outdoors. From December 22, 2024 to January 4, 2025, the DOH also recorded three other fatalities related to firecrackers. In total, the number of injuries during the holiday season reached 771, a 27.
6% increase compared to 2024. Of this total, 453 victims were aged 19 or younger, while 318 were aged 20 or older. The DOH also recorded two cases involving children aged three and two years old who were injured by fireworks. 'Kwitis' remained the leading cause of injuries related to fireworks, followed by '5-star' and 'boga'
