The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday registered 1,283 new COVID-19 infections as active cases rose to 18,899.

The country’s caseload totals 4,038,716 based on the DOH’s latest figures.

The country’s recovery tally climbed to 3,955,135 from Thursday's 3,954,477. However, the 658 persons recorded to have defeated the virus were the lowest in eight days and the third straight day of less than a thousand new recoveries.
