A total of 101 fireworks-related injuries have been recorded by the Department of Health as of December 27, 2024."As of 6 a.m. ng December 27, may naitala na tayo na 101 fireworks-related injury nationwide," said DOH Assistant Secretary Dr. Albert Domingo at a public briefing.
He stressed that even 'kwitis' was logged as the top 4 causes of fireworks-related injuries-- despite being legal."Kwitis kahit legal siya, yan po ay lumipipad. Kung hindi tayo marunong gumamit or marunong tayo at tama yung gamit yung pagtutok ay problema pa rin na kapag pumalya baka mapunta sa kapitbahay," he warned.Of the 101 individuals, most were injured in their eyes, hands, legs, and shoulders.
