Some movie fans were disappointed when certain films and personalities were not nominated for awards at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal. Aga Muhlach and Dan Villegas ' suspense-thriller 'Uninvited' and Eugene Domingo 's 'And the Breadwinner Is..' were among the overlooked entries. However, Noel Ferrer, spokesperson for the Metro Manila Film Festival , reassured fans that the selection process was fair and transparent.
Ferrer emphasized the integrity of the jury, stating they deliberated extensively from 9 am to 4:30 pm on December 27th without any leaks or bias. Nicanor Tiongson chaired the selection committee, with Jose Javier Reyes as co-chairman and Amenah Pangandaman as vice chairman. Other jury members included prominent figures from the film industry and beyond.
