THE Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development tweaked its housing goals and implemented disaster resiliency initiatives in 2024.The DHSUD was among the agencies President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. tasked to assist survivors of the typhoons that hit the country this year.Following the president's order, it launched the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program to help typhoon survivors rebuild their damaged homes.
As of August 31, Acuzar said there were 53 ongoing 4PH projects, and at least 12,000 units were expected to be built before the year ends.Acuzar said Marcos' approval of the sovereign guarantee empowered the NHA and SHFC as developers.A sovereign guarantee entails the release of government funds for public housing to attract the participation of private banks and institutions.
