Devils forward Kurtis Gabriel has been suspended one game for boarding Flyers forward Nolan Patrick.
The 25-year-old Gabriel caught Patrick, 20, with a dangerous hit-from-behind during opening minutes of the two clubs’ meeting on Friday night, as seen in the video above. A scrum ensued as Patrick was forced to head down the tunnel. Gabriel was handed a five-minute boarding major for the incident.
Patrick answered back later in the tilt with a shot of his own, sending Gabriel to the ice with a stiff shoulder.Gabriel has three points through 14 appearances in the big leagues this season, while Patrick has 26 points through 58 games for the Flyers in 2018-19.
