Arson squad detectives have been called in as part of an investigation into a house fire that broke out in the early hours of the morning, leaving two people dead.
Victoria Police arson squad detectives and a fire investigator were called to the Lara property near Geelong on Monday morning as part of the probe into the fatal fire.
Emergency services had rushed to the Forest Road North home about 4:45am, with the two bodies discovered after firefighters extinguished the blaze.he heard"a car door slam" and noticed"all these sparks coming out on to the road". And then of course the fire brigade and all the other emergency services guys came," Mr Harvey said."The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and a crime scene has been established," a Victoria Police statement said. Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
