As stated in the advisory, DepEd said that the P5,000 cash allowance is given to classroom teachers for the “purchase of teaching supplies and materials, for internet subscription, and other communication expenses.” In DepEd Order No. 10 s. of 2020, it was noted that the cash allowance “shall be given to entitled public school teachers not earlier than the official start of the school year.:
