The Department of Education (DepEd) has begun training for teachers specializing in English, Science, and Mathematics (ESM) in partnership with Khan Academy and Frontlearners. The training aims to enhance teachers' abilities to conduct effective learning sessions, leading to improved academic performance that meets international standards. Following the training, teacher-trainers will be identified by School Division Superintendents to facilitate learning sessions and socio-emotional learning for learners. These sessions will be implemented from January 16 to March 10, 2025, encompassing orientation on learning platforms, assessment activities, and coaching sessions.

The Department of Education on Monday kicked off its training for English, Science, and Mathematics teachers, learning sessions for learners and their parents to support school activities as part of the agency’s continuing efforts to improve learning outcomes.

“We are equipping our teachers with cutting-edge tools and strategies to provide world-class instruction in English, Science, and Math. By empowering our educators, we are not only enhancing classroom learning but also preparing our learners to excel academically and meet the challenges of an ever-evolving world,” said Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara.

After the training and exam of teachers in their respective subject areas, School Division Superintendents will identify teacher-trainers per subject who will serve as Learning Sessions and Socio-emotional Learning facilitators for learners in their respective divisions.
