In early February, Mindy DesRoches was one of Dr. Hal McRae's patients to receive a letter in the mail, notifying her of his upcoming departure. – ContributedWhen Stella Gallant of Summerside opened the letter from McRae on Feb. 10, she felt discouraged – not for herself, but for her seven-year-old son as well as her mother, who are also McRae’s patients.“She needs a consistent doctor,” said Gallant. “It’s kind of scary on her end. I’m not really sure what we’re gonna do.
Gallant has been McRae’s patient for the last three years; before then, her doctor was Dr. Cyril Moyse, who retired in late 2020.
