The departing ACT chief prosecutor has launched a broadside against the Sofronoff Inquiry, strenuously denying allegations he engaged in 'underhanded conduct' during the trial of Bruce Lehrmann.
Mr Drumgold resigned from his role in the Department of Public Prosecutions on Sunday in the aftermath of the inquiry's damning findings.

In handing down his findings, inquiry lead Walter Sofronoff KC dissmissed those claims, instead finding it had resulted in a"huge" and costly inquiry, which had served only to cause hurt to those involved.
In his statement, the former DPP head blasted those findings, denying he had engaged in"underhanded conduct" during the trial."While I acknowledge I made mistakes, I strongly dispute that I engaged in deliberate or underhanded conduct in the trial or that I was dishonest."
