With the Arctic becoming more accessible to foreign nations, Ottawa needs to do more to support the Inuit — Canada’s first line of defence, says Sen. Tony Dean.in a phone interview from Nunavut on Tuesday. “They are prepared to engage in mutual benefit agreements … where the money that is going to be invested in the Arctic for defence and security purposes has a knock-on effect and a rebound effect on communities.”
