KULAI: The decomposing remains of a woman was found inside a bag that was left at an abandoned bus stop in front of the TNB building here.
OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said police received a distress call from a local man who made the chilling discovery at around 1.50pm on Wednesday.
He said a police team, including the forensic unit from the state police headquarters, was deployed to the scene. “At first, we could not ascertain the sex, age and time of death as the remains was over 50% decomposed with maggots.Supt Tok said the hospital’s pathology expert concluded the victim was likely to be a woman, aged 25 and above, and that she had died more than two weeks ago.“There are also some visible injuries on her scalp but the cause of death is pending further lab tests,” he said.Those with information should contact the district police hotline at 07-663 2222.
