KOTA KINABALU: The decision to declassify the final report on Sabah’s Double Six plane crash that killed 11 people, including state ministers and the then chief minister Tun Fuad Stephens, is a relief for all, says Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

The Sabah Chief Minister said that this was because after 47 years, an answer would be given to families of those who perished as well as all Sabahans.He said whatever the report contained, it would be accepted by the state government with an open heart.

“The Federal Cabinet’s decision to declassify the final report on the Double Six plane crash that killed 11 people, including the Berjaya state government leader Tun Fuad Stephens in 1976 is a relief,” Hajiji said in a statement Wednesday .‘Double Six’ report on plane crash that killed ex-Sabah CM to be declassified, says Anwar

“This is a relief because it unravels what actually happened on that day. A relief not only to the family of those who perished in the plane crash but also for the people of Sabah,” he said. The Chief Minister was commenting on the announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the Federal Cabinet’s decision to allow the declassification of documents that have been under wraps for 47 years.“The State Government will accept the findings of the report with an open heart,” said Hajiji.
