The section of the Lochside Trail that was earlier closed due to the discovery of a deceased person has now reopened.
Investigators are on scene after a deceased person was found near the Galloping Goose trail in Saanich on May 25, 2023.
After an initial investigation, Saanich Police say the cause of death of a man who was found deceased near the Lochside Trail is not suspicious. On May 25 around 8 a.m., police were called to the bridge at Carey Road and Ravine Way for an unresponsive man under the bridge.A Major Crime Unit investigation determined the cause of death is not suspicious, and the BC Coroners Service will now continue the investigation.TRAIL UPDATE: The portion of the Lochside Trail to the Switch Bridge at the Galloping Goose is now OPEN. We will be clearing the scene shortly. Thank you for everyone’s patience.
