When Dean Clancy qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games last Summer, he did so in the most trying of circumstances.
Even now, six months after the event, Clancy finds it difficult to articulate his feelings at that time. “And I really wanted to qualify and I kept reminding myself before I left that he had full belief in me, So I was like ‘I’m going to do it for him’ and it got me over the line I suppose. It was difficult and I don’t know how I got through it.”
