and Country Road's fashion retailer Politix have agreed to pay more than $750,000 in interest and contrition payments after admitting to underpaying staff a total of $4 million.

David Jones underpaid about 2800 employees around $480,000 in wages and around $1.4 million in superannuation to about 6100 employees between April 2014 and September 2020.Two companies have each signed an Enforceable Undertaking with the Fair Work Ombudsman, requiring them to back-pay the remaining underpayments and superannuation.

Fair Work Ombudsman Sandra Parker has said EUs were appropriate as David Jones and Politix had shown a firm commitment to rectifying all underpayments and changing their practices."David Jones and Politix have committed to implementing stringent measures to improve compliance and protect the rights of their employees," Parker said.
