The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental has launched an intensified version of its Alalay para sa mas Luwas ug Andam na Barangay (ALAB) program, aiming to equip all 183 barangays with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for natural disasters. The program focuses on capacity-building training, providing residents with the necessary information and skills to respond effectively before, during, and after a disaster. Governor Niño Uy emphasized the significance of proactive disaster preparedness, stating that communities must be ready at all times.

THE Provincial Government of Davao Oriental has intensified its Alalay para sa mas Luwas ug Andam na Barangay program, aiming to equip barangays with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for natural disasters.On January 4, 2024, the Local Government Unit of Davao Oriental reached approximately 3,557 families in the municipalities of Banaybanay and Lupon through the ALAB program.

“Mao nga nahimugso ang programa sa ALAB aron ma-institutionalize ang padayon nga paglihok sa gobyerno para makahatag og kaayohan sa matag-usa dinhi sa probinsya ,” he said. The program, established under Executive Order No. 48, series of 2024, will be implemented across all 183 barangays in Davao Oriental.ALAB focuses on capacity-building training, providing residents with the necessary information and skills to respond effectively before, during, and after a disaster.
