Critics are saying Daniel Andrews is leaving behind a “broken state with record debt levels” after the Victorian Premier announced his resignation, says Sky News host Sharri Markson. “Andrews said he wants to leave the state while he’s on top – but critics are scathing,” she said. Ms Markson’s comments come after Mr Andrews announced at a media conference that he would visit the Governor to resign as Premier and member for Mulgrave – nine years after he was sworn in. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese “was apparently shocked” to hear the news, describing Mr Andrews as “having a passion for infrastructure – and praised his tenure in the top job,” Ms Markson said. “He described Andrews as an old friend, and it had been a pleasure to work with him.”
