The other two men are charity medic Kevin Cornwell and another unidentified UK national who manages a hotel in Kabul, the report said. "We are working hard to secure consular contact with British nationals detained in Afghanistan and we are supporting families," a spokesperson for Britain's foreign ministry said in a statement, but did not confirm the details of the British nationals.
Mr Routledge has gained fame, and attracted controversy, by travelling to dangerous countries and posting about it online. Scott Richards, who works for the Presidium Network, which helps people caught up in humanitarian crises, told Sky News it was supporting two of the men and their families."We have no reason to believe they've been subject to sort of any negative treatment, such as torture. And we're told that they are as good as can be expected in such circumstances.
