Through a few rounds of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, Massey isn’t messing around in front of the spirited grandstand fans, proving to them and the rodeo community why he’s been the best of the biz in 2023 all the while trying to attain perfection in the ring.“You try to be — that’s what you’re shooting for. Given the tremendous trip he’s been on this season, including a win last week at the Ponoka Stampede, Massey is closer to perfection than just about everybody. He’s pocketed $105,950.97 so far this season. That’s a whopping $35,000 more than anybody else on the steer wrestling circuit.“I just think it’s just been a good concoction of drawing good and riding great horses,” said Massey, who’s been atop Cochrane cowboy Tanner Milan’s horse, Eddie, during his recent tour of Canadian rodeos. “I just got all the confidence in the world in that horse.
