Dallas Stars re-sign Jake Oettinger to three-year contract

The Dallas Stars have re-signed goaltender Jake Oettinger to a three-year contract, the club announced Thursday. Oettinger’s new deal runs through the 2024–25 season and carries a $4 million annual cap hit. The Stars originally selected the 23-year-old goaltender in the first round of the 2017 NHL Draft.We have signed Jake Oettinger to a three-year contract through the 2024-25 season.Oettinger appeared in 48 games with the Stars during the 2021–22 regular season, posting a 30–15–1 record and a .914 save percentage. He entered the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs as the Stars’ starting goaltender.
As the Stars faced the Calgary Flames in the first round of the playoffs, Oettinger elevated his game to an extreme level. The 6’5″, 220-pound netminder almost singlehandedly stole the series for the Stars, allowing just 13 goals in total despite facing an average of 41 shots per game.Oettinger’s .954 save percentage ultimately stood as the highest of the playoffs.
