The Prime Minister and Opposition Leader have weighed in on the 'great Australian dream' as the pair clash over housing, ahead of a decision on interest rates. Here's Monday's wrap from the campaign trail.
Mr Morrison was pressed on the state of Australia's housing market at a press conference in Geelong, Victoria on Monday, a day after Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese unveiled Labor's"help to buy" scheme.

The scheme aims to reduce the cost of home ownership for 10,000 Australians a year by allowing the government to purchase up to 40 per cent of the equity in the house."It's not only that, you are last in line when it comes to your home. The bank has the first call over it. The government has the second call over it, and you come last when it comes to your own home.
"And during the course of the Global Financial Crisis, there was a credit squeeze and there was a real problem being faced, particularly by regional banks. Shadow Treasurer Jim Chalmers said an interest rate rise would be a"triple whammy" for Australians as he took aim at Mr Morrison.
