The agricultural damage due to the onslaught of typhoon Ambo has further increased to ₱1.14 billion, directly affecting 37,714 farmers and fisherfolk, according to the latest Department of Agriculture (DA) report released on Monday afternoon.
The first cyclone of the year caused a production loss of 65,824 metric tons covering 25,404 hectares of agricultural areas.
The high-value crops incurred the biggest loss among the affected commodities at 69 percent , which include banana , assorted vegetables , and papaya . DA Secretary William Dar assured the fast delivery of interventions to typhoon-stricken farmers and fisherfolk.
