The Victoria Police Department is investigating after a cyclist was injured in a Monday morning collision involving a vehicle.
VicPD on scene of Monday collision at Government and Bay streets. Monday, Feb. 6, 2023.Around 7:45 a.m., VicPD officers were called to the intersection of Government and Bay streets for a report that a cyclist was injured in a collision involving a vehicle.
According to police, BC Emergency Health Services paramedics provided treatment to the cyclist before transporting them to hospital for further medical care. “The cyclist’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening but will require additional treatment over a longer recovery period,” VicPD said in a statement.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.Police say the investigation is in its early stages and remains ongoing. The intersection was closed to traffic for about two hours as investigators gathered evidence.
Anyone who witnessed or has video footage of the collision is asked to call VicPD’s report desk at 250-995-7654 ext. 1.
