The Bureau of Customs (BOC) intercepted a shipment declared as a central heating boiler that turned out to contain methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy, worth more than P1.161 million at the Port of Clark. The illegal drugs arrived from Germany and were discovered after BOC personnel conducted an X-ray scanning and K-9 sniff test. Field testing by PDEA confirmed the presence of methylenedioxymethamphetamine, classified as a dangerous drug under R.A. No. 9165, as amended.

A Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued for the shipment for violations of Section 118(g), Section 119(d), and Section 1113 paragraphs f, i, and l (3 and 4) of R.A. No. 10863, or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), in relation to R.A. No. 9165. Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio said, “This latest successful interception underscores our determination to safeguard our borders and uphold the safety of our citizens. We remain resolute in collaborating with partner agencies to detect and neutralize threats, such as Ecstasy, that jeopardize the well-being of our nation,” he added
