Curler Ella Lenentine and two-sport athlete Ryan Dwyer will be carrying P.E.I.’s flag during the 2023 Canada Winter Games opening ceremonies on Feb. 18.

In a news release, Jo-anne Wallace, Team P.E.I.’s chef de mission, said Lenentine and Dwyer are deserving of being the flag bearers and exemplify the next generation of athletes.Hotel bookings in P.E.I. strong as 2023 Canada Winter Games draw near Dwyer, a Stratford resident, balances a national level gymnastics training schedule and his Major U18 Charlottetown Knights hockey schedule.
Lenentine, who is from New Dominion, is skip of the women’s curling team and with partner Mitchell Schut is on the mixed doubles curling team. Amy Duncan, Curling P.E.I.’s executive director, said Lenentine shows great leadership and brings out the best in her teammates.
