A suspect has been arrested after fleeing on an ATV following an assault in Cumberland that left the victim with serious injuries.Comox Valley RCMP were called about noon on July 5 to the 3300-block of Third Street after a report of an assault with a weapon and located the victim.
Officers from several units attended and a suspect was quickly identified, but fled into a rural area on an all-terrain vehicle.“Although the investigation is still ongoing, the evidence gathered thus far indicates that this was a targeted attack and there does not appear to be a risk to the general public,” said Const. Monika Terragni.Anyone with information is asked to call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321.
