The Greater Sudbury Cubs skated to a 6-2 win over the visiting Powassan Voodoos on Feb. 20 at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex.
“On a man advantage themselves, the hosts went back in front just over six minutes later when Walker deposited a diving backhand off a Kaden Laverdiere attempt,” an NOJHL game report states. Both teams played it defensively in the second with the lone goal of the period coming from Greater Sudbury’s Cameron Walker scored his first of two on the night. The forward “won a race for the puck while darting down the left wing and wired one high into the top right corner for his initial multi-tally performance of the season.”
“Roy has volunteered as a coach, team manager, administrator, tournament director, league photographer and board member for the past 40 years, and has been directly responsible for the Sudbury Playground Hockey League being highly successful for much of its 70-year existence,” the Cubs said in a news release.
