Samuel Assinewai had a pair of goals to pace the Cubs in the win
With the first three games being tight, it wasn’t shocking that game four between the Soo Thunderbirds and Greater Sudbury Cubs was no different.
The Thunderbirds opened the scoring as Jacob Smith drove the net down the middle and converted a pass from Daniel Beaupre cutting in from the left wing, beating Cubs goaltender Noah Metivier at 7:16. Just 28 seconds into the power play Samuel Assinewai beat Bourret from the slot after getting the puck from Oliver Smith in the left circle with 1:29 to go in the period.
