‘Jacks sent packing by a 4-2 score

In NOJHL action, the visiting Hearst Lumberjacks found themselves headed home disappointed after falling 4-2 to the Greater Sudbury Cubs on Oct. 4.

The Cubs drew first blood late in the first when Sobush took a couple of whacks and managed to chip one over sprawled Lumberjack goalie Matteo Gennaro. The second period saw Sobush strike once again, firing from the hash marks and beating Gennaro again to make it a 2-0 Cubs game. The Lumberjacks did eventually get on the scoreboard. About halfway through the third, Nathaniel Boyes made it a 3-1 game. But the Cubs responded quickly when Billy Biedermann tipped one in off a Cameron Shanks’ shot.
